추석이 뭐예요? What is Chuseok?

추석 is one of the biggest holidays is Korea. 추석 is a significant harvest festival celebrated in Korean and it’s often referred to as ‘Korean Thanksgiving'.

추석은 언제예요? When is Chuseok? 

추석 is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the lunar calendar. Family gather together during the full harvest moon. 추석 changes every year but it usually falls in September and October.

Koreans celebrate the three-day holiday period for Chuseok. People usually go to their hometown the day before Chuseok. On the day of Chuseok, they have a good time with their family.

There are some traditions in Chuseok. The most representative one is  'Songpyeon' which is a rice cake filled with sweet fillings like sesame seeds, red beans, chestnuts,etc.
