#4. Photography : 사진은 어떻게 찍나요?

네번째 뉴스레터 이야기는 사진 촬영 교육입니다!

동아리 활동 시작 전 설문조사를 시행했었는데,

대부분의 학생들이 핸드폰은 가지고 있지만 활발히 사용하지 않아

신문을 제작할 때, 사진과 글이 필수적인데,

사진 촬영에 어려움이 있지 않을까 하는 고민이 있었습니다.

✨또한

신문부에서 배우고 싶은 활동으로 카메라, 기술적인 부분을

배우고 싶어하는 학생들이 있다는 것을 알게되었습니다.

그래서 단원 분 중 한분인 사진작가 분께 부탁드려 사진 교육을 진행할 수 있었습니다.

The fourth newsletter is about photo-taking lessons!

Before starting the club activities, most students have phones but don't use them much.

Since photos and text are essential for making a newspaper, I was worried they might have trouble with taking pictures.

And I conducted a survey and found out that some students in the newspaper club want to learn about cameras and technical aspects.

So, I asked a photographer to teach a photography class.

That's how the photography class started!

I asked the instructor who conducted the training for their thoughts.

Q. 수업을 준비하면서 가장 우려되었던 점은 무엇인가요? (What was your biggest worry when preparing for the class?)

A. 포토그래피 수업에서 실습하지 못하는 점이 가장 우려되는 점이었습니다. 
이론 수업만 가지고 학생들에게 사진에 대한 흥미와 사진 촬영에 관한 필수적인 기술을 알려주기 위해서 노력을 많이 했습니다.

🧑 The biggest worry in the photography class was not being able to do practical exercises. I worked hard to make the theory lessons interesting and to teach the essential skills of photography to the students.

Q. 수업에서 학생들이 알아갔으면 하는 한 가지가 있다면? (If there's one thing I want students to learn from the class, what would it be?)

A. 현대에는 스마트폰 등 사진에 대해 접근하기가 매우 쉬워졌지만 또 좋은 사진에 대한 고민을 해볼 기회가 오히려 적어진 것 같습니다.
이번 수업을 통해서 학생들 스스로 좋은 사진에 대한 고민과 노력을 많이 해볼 수 있으면 좋겠습니다.

🧑 Today, it is very easy to take photos with smartphones and other devices, but it seems that there are fewer opportunities to think about what makes a good photo. I hope this class gives students the chance to think deeply about and work hard to create good photos.

Q. 실제 수업을 해보니 학생들의 이해도는 어느 정도였나요? (How well did the students understand the material during the actual class?)

A. 이론 위주의 수업이라 개인적으로 아주 아쉬웠지만 학생들이 적극적으로 참여해줘서 고마웠습니다.
중간에 질문에도 학생들이 적극적으로 대답하는 모습으로 미루어봐 잘 이해한 것같습니다.

🧑 Although it was mainly a theory-based class, which I personally found a bit disappointing, I was grateful for the students' active participation. Judging by how they eagerly answered questions, it seems they understood the material well.

신문부 학생들의 만족도가 어느정도였냐?

How satisfied were the newspaper club students?

사후 설문조사 결과를 살짝 스포하자면,

1개 이상을 선택한 학생들것까지 합치면

총 9명 중 5명의 학생들이 가장 만족스러운 활동으로 뽑았습니다.(🧸작고 소듕해,,,)

To give a little spoiler from the post-survey results:

Out of 9 students, 5 chose this as their most satisfying activity, including those who selected more than one option. (🧸 So small and precious,,,)

✔사진 촬영을 학생들이 직접 해보고, 피드백 받는 형식도 좋았을텐데

학생들이 사진을 찍을 수 있는 수단이 없다보니 이 활동은 진행하지 못했는데요.🤔

2학기 활동 때는 아이패드 등을 통해

팀마다 직접 사진을 찍어보는 연습을 해볼까 생각중입니다.

✔It would have been nice if the students could take photos themselves and get feedback. However, we couldn't do this activity because the students didn't have a way to take photos. 🤔

For the second semester, I'm thinking of having each team practice taking photos using iPads.

어떤 활동을 해야 학생들이 직접 해볼 수 있을지 고민이 되네요.
