Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves."
Luke 10:3 (NIV)
1.The Starting Point of Saint Vincent, Saint Lucia, and the Dominica
Hello everyone, how have you been? Summer has already arrived, hasn’t it? Here in the Caribbean, the weather is not just warm—it’s been consistently hot and humid.
As I reflect on the time that has passed, I’m reminded of how quickly everything has gone by. It feels like just yesterday that I first stepped onto the Logos Hope, and yet now, the end of my mission journey is drawing near. As the day of returning home approaches, I find myself filled with both excitement and a mix of emotions.
Right now, we are in a season of transition on the ship. Many of our crewmates are finishing their time here and returning home. Saying goodbye to friends I’ve shared life and ministry with has been harder than I expected. Still, even in these moments, I feel that the Lord has poured so much grace and comfort into my heart.
The fellowship I’ve shared with so many friends on this ship has truly been a gift. Hearing how each person met Jesus and the testimonies they carry in their lives has been deeply inspiring. This time on the Logos Hope has not been just a trip or assignment—it has been a deeply meaningful and spiritual journey, full of God’s presence.
In every country we visited, the Lord poured out grace and moved in powerful ways. Being with the people in each nation taught me how to live out and share the love of Jesus—not just through words, but through my life. I’ve come to realize more and more that missions isn’t just about doing something for God, but about becoming more like Jesus and carrying His heart.
Though the time to return home is near, every moment here will remain a lasting imprint on my heart. With gratitude, I hold onto this precious season and look forward to wherever the Lord will lead me next.
2.Bread’s Faith Journey
I recently had the opportunity to participate in a three-week basic missions training aboard the Logos Hope. This journey began with us carrying a cross and from that very first moment, the training became a deeply challenging and moving experience for me.
At first, it was quite difficult. All the sessions were conducted in English, and there were many moments that felt unfamiliar and overwhelming. But thankfully, I was part of a small group of about 10 trainees who truly supported me. They took time to explain things in simpler terms, shared their notes with me, and made sure I never felt left behind. Their kindness and patience helped me stay on track and complete the training.
One of the key questions that stayed with me throughout was: “How can we effectively share the Gospel through street evangelism?” Before this, I often thought that simply working hard on the Logos Hope was my ministry. But through this training, I began to ask deeper questions: "How is my relationship with God?" "Am I building healthy, Christ-centered relationships with those around me?"
In the middle of my regular routine in the bakery which often felt repetitive this training reminded me of the importance of devotion: daily prayer, Scripture, and intimate time with God. I was reminded that before we do anything for God, we must first dwell in Him.
One moment that left a deep impression on me was the practical outreach based on Luke chapter 10. Just like how Jesus told His disciples to “go without food, money, or extra clothes,” we were split into six teams of three and sent out with nothing no water, no food, no money for one night.
We walked for over five hours, completely depending on God. We were tired, hungry, and unsure of what would happen but through it all, we held onto Him. And in the midst of that, we experienced God's incredible provision.
At first, it seemed like we might have to sleep at a bus stop. But God led us to a local church that welcomed us in and offered a place to rest. Later, a kind local person even shared food with us. While sharing the Gospel, we met people who were open, and even someone who confessed faith in Jesus.
Through this, I deeply experienced the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God. Even in my weakness, the Lord prepared every step and guided us with His love and sovereignty. It reminded me once again that it is He who works, and I am simply a vessel.
This time of training has become one of the most unforgettable and impactful moments in my spiritual journey. It has reshaped how I view missions and life itself. All glory to God for what He has done.
And… yes I got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes. But even that has become part of the memory, and honestly, I’m thankful for it too.
3.Bread’s Ministry
I was recently given a special opportunity to serve in a very meaningful ministry building a house. But it wasn’t just simple construction; it was about restoring a broken, dilapidated home and making it new again. I was assigned to build the bathroom, which proved to be physically and mentally challenging. Under the scorching sun, digging the ground, creating drainage, and installing pipes felt like being back in the military because of how tough the work was.
Yet, there was a profound meaning and God’s grace woven into every moment. This was not merely about constructing a building, but about pouring love and service into a home for the family who would live there. Together with my team, we thoughtfully asked, “How can we build this house stronger and more beautiful?” and worked hard, side by side, to bring it to life. Those moments were truly moving.
When the house was finally completed, the bathroom and other structures we built became more than just facilities they became a precious gift that would impact someone’s life deeply. Seeing the home restored before our eyes, I witnessed how God works through us in tangible ways.
Through this ministry, I realized once again that the Gospel is sometimes shared not through words but through hands and feet, sweat and service. And when we love sincerely, God performs amazing things in the midst of it.
Despite the heat and hard labor, every moment was filled with God’s grace, making this an unforgettable and precious experience for me. I am deeply thankful to the Lord who guided every step of the process and allowed me to bring warmth and hope to someone’s life through this work.
4.Bread’s Church Ministry
This past Sunday, I had the opportunity to serve in a church ministry, and it was truly a special and moving experience for me.
At the church we visited, we introduced the Logos Hope mission ship and shared about the various ministries our teams are carrying out onboard. Through a Logos Hope presentation, we conveyed the vision and mission of the ship. Afterward, we had a meaningful time of open Q&A with the congregation, engaging in sincere and heartfelt conversations.
The church we visited was a small, humble local congregation. Yet, within its simplicity was a warmth of hospitality, deep fellowship, and genuine care that touched me profoundly. It was a moment when I truly realized that a church does not need to be large to be filled with God’s grace; worship can happen anywhere God’s presence dwells. That place was undoubtedly a sacred space where God’s presence was alive.
After the ministry, the church members lovingly prepared bread for us with their own hands. This simple act was much more than food—it was a beautiful expression of love and service. Through their warm hospitality, I once again felt the tangible love of God. Some attendees also inquired eagerly about volunteering on the Logos Hope ship, and we were glad to share how they could get involved.
Though brief, every moment of that day shone like a highlight. I witnessed firsthand how God moves in people’s hearts and works powerfully through the community.
This ministry was not just a time for us to ‘give’ something to others but a precious opportunity for us to ‘receive’ God’s love through these encounters. I am deeply thankful that the Lord prepared these moments and allowed us to share grace through one another.
5.Bread’s Emergency Lifeboat Drill
At Logos Hope, we regularly conduct lifeboat training to prepare for emergency situations. This time, we underwent a practical drill designed not just as a procedure, but as an essential practice to protect lives when unexpected crises arise.
For us serving as crew members aboard the ship, this training holds even greater significance. We must be calm, swift, and prepared—because only then can we safely guide many people to security.
The training involved wearing life jackets and boarding the actual lifeboats to simulate a safe evacuation from the ship into open waters. Though initially nerve-wracking and unfamiliar, every moment felt vivid and realistic, encouraging us to engage wholeheartedly.
What made this experience even more meaningful was having the ship’s deck leaders who are responsible for the vessel’s safety join us on the boats. Working as a team alongside them deepened our understanding of the importance of community and shared responsibility for safety.
Through this drill, we learned that it’s not only about mastering technical procedures but also about trusting and cooperating with one another in times of crisis. Inside that small lifeboat on the vast ocean, we were reminded of God’s peace and protection. We recognized anew the call to serve faithfully in the roles entrusted to us.
While preparing for emergencies, this training also became a precious time to remember that God walks with us, granting wisdom and courage even in the most challenging moments.
6.Bread’s Baking Class
Every Wednesday, Logos Hope hosts a baking class. Remarkably, it has already been one year and two months since this class first began. What started simply as a small gathering to bake bread and spend time together has grown into an experience filled with blessings and love beyond what I could have ever imagined.
As we knead dough, laugh, share stories, and sometimes open up about life, I realized that this was not just about teaching how to bake. It was about learning and sharing love. Helping each other with flour-covered hands and rejoicing together when the bread comes out of the oven—those moments made me understand, “This is the Gospel.”
It is truly a wonderful grace that a simple loaf of bread can open hearts, spread warmth, and become a bridge that connects people as one.
More than anything, through this time, I have learned so much myself—the joy of serving, the beauty of community, and how to use the talents God has given me in practical ways. I confess that none of this was by my own strength or ideas, but from the very beginning, it was God who planned and guided this journey.
Now that my time with Logos Hope is drawing to a close, I earnestly hope that this baking class will continue on. I pray that it remains not just an activity of making bread, but a space where God’s love flows naturally and where people’s lives are warmed.
I sincerely thank all the friends who have shared this ministry with me, and above all, I give glory to God who made all of this possible.
7. Bread’s Special Event
Recently, Logos Hope hosted a very special event just for the crew. It was called the “Logoscar” a small film festival unique to Logos Hope. This wasn’t just any ordinary event; it was a day where everyone could shine as the stars of their own movie-like story.
The event was held in the style of a film festival, where crew members created their own movies and screened them for all to see. Each film carried its own story and message, and everyone involved from the actors to the filmmakers and editors came together as a team to unleash their creativity and passion. Just like attending a real film festival, there was even a dress code, and everyone dressed up in elegant dresses and suits, walking the red carpet to make the day feel truly special.
Throughout the event, interviews were held, giving each team a chance to share how their films came to be and the hearts behind their work. Finally, an awards ceremony took place to honor outstanding films and hardworking teams. But the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the time of cake and celebration a moment filled with laughter and joy that felt even more touching than any film.
The Logoscar event was not just about having fun. Through making films together, preparing, and celebrating as one, we truly felt the value of community and the power of warm encouragement. It was a deep experience of how God grants joy within the fellowship, helping each of us to shine in our own place and to uplift one another.
It was a day that felt more like a movie than any movie a day to remember forever, where above all, we were reminded that God made each of us special.
8.NEXT STEP
As we conclude our mission work in the Dominican Republic, we will set sail for our next destination, Jamaica, on July 14th. Every time we finish ministry in one country and prepare to leave for another, there’s always a mix of excitement and bittersweet feelings. Thinking back on the precious moments shared with friends in the Dominican Republic, the approaching farewell tugs gently at my heart.
Jamaica is a place familiar to me, yet it remains fresh and challenging every time we return. When Logos Hope was last in Jamaica, it was a bustling port filled with activity. I vividly remember many people visiting the ship, happily buying books and enjoying brownies and bread from the iCafe. It’s a place that truly needs the touch of ministry.
Upon arriving in Jamaica this time, I will join the Challenge Team for a week-long outreach. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and share God’s gospel in a new area among new people. Though I don’t yet know all the details of what lies ahead, I trust that the Lord will guide each step.
The voyage will take about four days, and I would appreciate your prayers for good health and no seasickness during that time. Please also pray for the safety and smooth arrival of our entire mission team, and that we will be able to carry out our ministry well once we reach Jamaica.
I believe this journey is yet another beautiful story God has prepared. Even in unfamiliar and new surroundings, I pray that the Lord will be with us and that His kingdom will expand through our small acts of service.
Prayer requests
1. For Skin Recovery During mission training, I was bitten many times by mosquitoes, causing severe itching and some wounds on my skin. Please pray for quick healing so I can continue the ministry with a healthy body.
2. For the Challenge Team Ministry (July 24th – 31st) I will be going on a week-long outreach with the Challenge Team in Jamaica soon. Please pray that God’s guidance and protection will be with us in this new environment and among new people, and that the ministry will be carried out successfully by His grace.
3. For the Continuation of the Baking Class The baking class that I have been serving in for 1 year and 2 months will soon come to an end. Please pray that this ministry will continue even after I leave the ship, and that it will remain a channel to share the Lord’s love.
