1) Mercedes source code exposed via GitHub token leak

Mercedes-Benz's GitHub token was leaked, giving the company unlimited access to the company's source code. This exposed intellectual property, passwords, and cloud access keys. Attackers were able to use this token to steal Mercedes' source code or cause a data leak. GitHub tokens were leaked in September, discovered in January, and recovered in late January. Mercedes-Benz is a large premium vehicle brand, selling millions of passenger cars every year.

 

2) Chinese brain chip helps paralysed man regain mobility 

Chinese scientists say they have developed an implant that wirelessly connects the brain to a computer. The device is less invasive than Elon Musk's Neuralink chip and has shown remarkable progress in its first patients. The device is called NEO, and it allowed quadriplegic patients participating in clinical trials to move prosthetic limbs with their brains. The device is said to not cause damage to neurons.

 

3) Taylor Swift debacle spurs tech world and US lawmakers into action

As fake sexual images of Taylor Swift spread across social media, Microsoft modified its generative AI tool and the U.S. Congress proposed new regulations. These images exposed the problem of non-consensual deepfake pornography. The White House also showed interest in this issue. X is working to stop the spread of Swift images, and the US Senate has introduced legislation that would punish those who create such images.

All models were trained on sequences of 16k tokens and show improved results for inputs of up to 100k tokens.
